Getting started

If you’re new to the climbing game, you may want to find your feet at a purpose-built centre designed to help you get your feet off the ground. The 30ft/9m LC Climbing Wall in Swansea has eight lines and 20 different routes to choose from. Best of all, there’s an automatic mechanism which allows you to be safely lowered back to terra firma once you reach the summit. Further west at Morfa Bay Adventure in Carmarthenshire, you can progress from low-altitude climbs 6ft/2m above the ground the to the 30ft/9m abseil tower, before testing your new-found skills on rocky sea crags. There’s also cosy bunkhouse accommodation if you feel like sticking around.
