Open Doors - Llanerchaeron

Llanerchaeron in the beautiful Aeron Valley welcomes visitors for a special weekend of free admission as part of CADW Open Doors celebrations. At the heart of the estate is an elegant Georgian villa designed by renowned architect John Nash in the 1790s, which has remained remarkably unaltered for more than two centuries.

Visitors can step inside the villa, explore the traditional Welsh farmyard and wander through the historic walled garden, which has been producing fruit and vegetables for over 200 years. There is also parkland and woodland to discover alongside the River Aeron.

Adding something extra to the weekend, a historical re-enactment will take place on the front lawn from 11.00am - 4.00pm. Visitors will be transported back to 1485, meeting archers and knights preparing for the Battle of Bosworth and watching demonstrations featuring the longbow, sword, Welsh spear and sling.
