About British Art Show 10: A Chorus of Strangers
British Art Show 10: A Chorus of Strangers comes to Swansea from 12 February to 16 May 2027 as the only Welsh venue on this prestigious UK-wide tour. Developed and produced by Hayward Gallery Touring, British Art Show is the UK's largest recurring exhibition of contemporary art and has brought the work of some of Britain's most celebrated artists to audiences across the country since 1979.
Curated by acclaimed writer and curator Ekow Eshun, A Chorus of Strangers will feature work by more than 30 artists from across the UK, including Alvaro Barrington, Lubna Chowdhary, Jesse Darling, Jasleen Kaur, Lindsey Mendick, Emma Talbot and Osman Yousefzada. The exhibition explores themes of identity, belonging, community and our relationship with the wider world through a diverse range of contemporary artistic practices.
Supported by Swansea Council and Arts Council Wales, this landmark exhibition further strengthens Swansea's growing reputation as a destination for major cultural events. Following its launch in Coventry, British Art Show 10 will tour to Swansea, Bristol, Sheffield, and Newcastle Gateshead.
