About Silver Circle Distillery
Silver Circle Distillery is an independent, award-winning Welsh craft distillery set on a working farm in Penallt, Monmouthshire, in the heart of the Wye Valley. Located between Monmouth and Chepstow, near Tintern, the distillery welcomes visitors for guided tours and tastings, hands-on gin-making experiences, cocktail masterclasses and drinks in its bar and tasting room. With Friday night pizza, regular events and a shop selling Welsh spirits and gifts, there's plenty to discover beyond the distillery itself.
Craft spirits with a sense of place
Founded in 2019, Silver Circle produces small-batch spirits inspired by the landscape, ingredients and flavours of the Wye Valley. Combining traditional distilling techniques with an adventurous approach to flavour, the distillery works with locally foraged botanicals, seasonal ingredients and unexpected combinations.
Its award-winning range includes Wye Valley Gin, Black Garlic Vodka, Aquavit and the three-star Great Taste award-winning Damson Negroni, alongside seasonal spirits and bottled cocktails.
Distillery tours and gin-making experiences
Step inside the working distillery on a guided tour and tasting to discover how Silver Circle's spirits are made, learn about the botanicals and ingredients behind them, and sample a selection of the finished products.
For a more hands-on experience, the Make Your Own Gin workshop offers the chance to create a personal gin recipe, choose your botanicals and distil your own bottle of gin to take home.
Cocktail masterclasses, special tastings and private group experiences are also available. Experiences can be booked in advance through the distillery's website.
Cocktails, pizza and events on the farm
You don't need to book an experience to enjoy Silver Circle. The distillery's bar and tasting room serves cocktails made with spirits produced on site, alongside carefully selected wines, local beers and alcohol-free options.
Outside, a spacious patio and covered stretch tent offer a relaxed place to enjoy drinks and the surrounding countryside. Dogs are welcome at Silver Circle Distillery, including on guided tours. With beautiful Wye Valley walks nearby, it's a great place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat with your four-legged companion.
Every Friday evening, Pizza at the Farm brings together freshly made sourdough pizzas, cocktails and a lively atmosphere. The distillery also hosts a year-round programme of events, including wine and spirits tastings, quiz nights, workshops, seasonal celebrations and collaborations with local food and drink producers.
