There are nature trails from the front door with detailed notes describing the wildlife and flowers you'll see along the way.

There are three really lovely stone lodges to choose from at Bryngwyn Canol Cottages. They've all been renovated to a high standard with top quality kitchens and exposed wooden beams. All have their own secluded garden with a covered hot tub - useable whatever the weather. Dog lovers will be pleased to know that their pooches also get the lux treatment. Two cottages have heated dog wash facilities. There's also a dog welcome pack and list of dog-friendly beaches nearby.

Plas Robin Rural Retreats comprises two angular, architect-designed lodges. They're the lap of luxury with sleek bathrooms and designer kitchens. Vast expanses of glass in the living rooms with bi-fold doors opening out on to private terraces mean you get panoramic views across green fields dotted with sheep and leafy woodland. There are log burners to keep you cosy and, of course, private hot tubs out on the terraces.

Three miles outside Llanidloes, the Firs and the Larches 5 star lodges are based up in the hills overlooking beautiful countryside. The verandas provide lots of outside space to chill out and enjoy the rural views from the hot tub! There's a real Scandi vibe to the single-story luxury lodges, with spacious open plan living areas, and two airy double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

You have 90 pedigree Holstein cows for company on this 120-acre dairy farm and you can enjoy fresh milk, butter and cream during your stay. Accommodation at Ty Tangwlyst Farm Cottages is in four attractive old stone farm buildings that feature all sorts of interesting nooks and carnies. All are cosy boltholes with wood beams, log burners and antique furniture. Three of the four have private hot tubs. As well as exploring the farm, you can wander through 25 acres of ancient woodland.
