Award winning Cosy Under Canvas is a woodland glamping site that lends itself to a relaxed, alternative break away from the trappings of a hectic life. It is perfect for those who love the idea of a unique, low impact and environmentally friendly camping with everything provided.
There are 7 geodomes set on wooden platforms each with a private fire pit and stylish wood burning stoves that can be stoked up to keep you toasty over night and on those sometimes chilly summer evenings.
Keep warm under the thick feather duvets, contemporary Welsh blankets, throws, sheepskins, and crisp bedding, plus there are fluffy rugs and cacoon seats. It’s peaceful, relaxing and comfortable.
The 2 smaller domes are 5m diameters and comfortably sleeps four adults, two on a double bed and two on roll out futon mattress. All beds have memory foam toppers for extra warmth and comfort. There's a chiminea on the deck that's great for toasting marshmallows or even your toes after an adventurous day out.
The spacious domes are 6m in diameter, 4m high. They sleep up to 4 adults comfortably and 5 or 6 if you’ve got the kids with you. Two sleep on a comfy king size bed, made from locally sourced wood and the extras on raised futon beds. The domes each have exclusive use of a wood-fired hot tub, perfect for steamy nights under the stars.
There is a fully fitted shared camp kitchen, it is equipped with everything you could possibly need and there’s also plenty of undercover seating for everyone. When the sun shines take a picnic blanket into the woods and enjoy.
We keep our impact on the environment to a minimum. There are compost loos and washrooms in the woods, plus eco, wood fired showers with a canopy view. Alternatively use the new washroom and biomass boiler heated power showers.
Campfires are positively encouraged and there's a fire pit in front of each unit. There’s plenty of seating for everyone and the large spaces around the fire pits mean that campfire cooking is a must. All dig into a one-pot stew or prepare a BBQ feast.
Within a mile of the path that forms the border between England and Wales, the Offa’s Dyke and adjacent to a footpath and bridleway, Cosy Under Canvas is an ideal retreat for those seeking a base for walking or exploring the area.
The unique market town of Hay on Wye with its mass of bookshops is only four miles away as is the Brecon Beacons National Park and the opportunities locally for outdoor activities are endless. They include hiking, walking, horse riding, trekking, canoeing, cycling, climbing, gliding and caving.
Units are available to rent from Fridays and Mondays and pricing varies depending on the season. A mid week short break in low season costs £245 for 2 people and a long weekend break in peak season costs £565 for 2 people in a smaller dome. Discounts are available for week- long stays.
