Street food with CDF
With half the year gone, Cardiff is in the midst of a street food frenzy as multiple venues open up, Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival hits town, and Cardiff Bay Beach gets ready to take over Roald Dahl Plass. Want to know more?
The CDF has everything you need to know...
With June over, Cardiff is well on its way into sunny summer weather and Street Food Circus - the brilliant pop-up event being held at No Fit State Circus, on John Street - has closed its doors after two months of unrivalled street food glory.
Missed out on all the action?
Don't worry! Depot will be taking the reins from Street Food Circus in July and the 22,000 ft warehouse space on Dumballs Road will have a killer offering including music, food and events.
Depot's Summer Social, starting today (July 10th) will run every Friday and Saturday throughout the month. The Social will see Little Bao Peep, Got Beef, Brother Thai, Science Cream and Pizza Pronto all return to the street food scene and all five local businesses will be serving up the best of their menus alongside a range of guest vendors.
Local pop-up cinema company Motley Movies will be getting in on the fun too with their hot tub cinema experience, which is expected to launch in Depot within the next couple of months.
Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival by Tracey Lintern
Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival will also be returning today and over the weekend (July 10th - 12th.) The biggest food event in the city will see over 100 local, national and international traders hit Cardiff Bay, offering a selection of farmhouse cheeses, handmade chocolates, specialist liqueurs and craft beers across two food markets.
The event will have the biggest - and can we say, best - outdoor street food piazza in Wales, offering a range of different gastronomic delights to visitors from midday every day.
The champagne bar on the water's edge will be bringing a touch of glamour to the event, perfect for warm summer nights.
After the festival, Cardiff Bay Beach will be arriving with 300 tonnes of sand, cocktail shakers, and BBQ food stalls on July 25th. The urban beach will also have live music, fairground rides, a volleyball tournament and even a Jack Sparrow lookalike!
So, what are you waiting for? Head for the capital and eat your heart out.
