Have you got a sweet tooth? It seems lots of people in Wales do based on the number of chocolate makers we have here!

Heavenly Chocolate Emporium, Carmarthenshire

The home of Heavenly Exquisite Desserts, this shop in Llandeilo is full of temptation. Not only are the chocolate creations delicious, the cakes and desserts made here are showstopping. Want a cake in the shape of Hedwig, or a chocolate sponge decorated to look like a bottle of gin ? No trouble for these guys. Don't worry if you're not after a huge cake to share – the smaller bites, such as rich brownies and tray bake slices, are available to takeaway

Cocoa and Co, Cowbridge

Cocoa and Co, a dinky shop tucked away on a cobbled street behind the High Street, is like something from a storybook. As you open the door, you're engulfed in the sweet smell of chocolate. Pure bliss! There are over 100 handmade chocolates to make gift boxes and treat bags with, chocolate novelties for children and grown-up adult treats including chocolate-coated cherries and Italian nougat. There are free from ranges and vegan options, too.

Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Co, Haverfordwest

The bright purple building housing the Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Co is Wales' answer to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Inside, there is a purpose-built demonstration room which looks into the factory, so you can see the chocolate passing from one stage of production to the next while learning about the history of chocolate and how it's made. You'll also get to sample the end result (hooray!) There's an area where you can make your own chocolate and the opportunity to have a private chocolate party or tastings. The on-site cafe and gift shop ensure you'll be full up with sugary goodness by the time you leave.
