Ynys Barry is situated midway between the cathedral city of St David's and the small port of Fishguard with its ferry link to Southern Ireland. We are uniquely positioned away from the road on the footpath to the beautiful sandy beach Traethllyfn, known by many as the best beach in Pembrokeshire. Just a ten-minute walk away is the picturesque village of Porthgain with is renowned Sloop Inn. Situated on the quayside is The Shed tearooms and licensed bistro, which specialises in local seafood. Fishing trips can be booked here and launching facilities are available. Art galleries and the architectural heritage of the area all add to the inimitable charm of Porthgain. Abereiddy beach and the blue lagoon are just a short walk away a ten minute drive takes you to the surfing beach Whiteands.
As well as the coastline with its 125 miles of coastal path, Pembrokeshire also offers the rugged contrast of the Preseli Hills from where the Bluestones for Stonehenge originated; also secluded valleys, such as the heavy wooded upper reaches of the river Cleddau. Add to this the mystic tales and folklore that surround the areas many castles and monoliths, its little wonder that our ancestors knew Pembrokeshire as the land of mystery and enchantment. Pembrokeshire is also a Mecca for outdoor sports and activities, including coastering, canoeing, climbing, horse riding, sailing and many more. For the less adventurous there are numerous villages and small towns to visit, craft workshops, galleries and a wide range of good eating-places.
