Originally a coaching inn dating back to 1695 and the birthplace of the Welsh Rugby Union, the Castle Hotel is a delightful retreat located in the heart of Neath. The Hotel is ideally situated for exploring the stunning Swansea Bay and Gower coastlines and visiting a host of superb attractions including Afan Forest and Brecon Beacons National Park.
Owned and run by a local family, the Castle is conveniently located just off the M4, 2 minutes’ walk from Neath mainline train station and 40 minutes from Cardiff.
We are very proud of the fact that the Welsh Rugby Union was founded here in March 1881 and we take every opportunity to celebrate our rugby heritage with special events and accommodation offers.

The Castle is also a convenient base for Mountain Bikers as we are only a stone’s throw from Afan Forest Park, with its 5 world class trails, and we offer secure bike storage.

Refurbishment of all 29 ensuite bedrooms was completed in February2014 and amenities include hospitality trays, free WIFI and 24 hour room service.

Green’s Restaurant serves simply good Welsh food and our head Chef, Tudor James, has created a menu with a strong Welsh theme offering all the best that’s fresh and local.
With its stylish, comfortable furnishings and live music every Saturday, Green’s is the ideal venue to eat, drink, relax and enjoy.

The Lounge Bar - with its rich oak panelling and stone fireplace, the Lounge Bar retains a timeless ambiance. Open all day for coffee and drinks.

We offer a selection of wedding packages including the £999 Wedding Spectacular – a complete wedding package, including the Civil Ceremony, for only £999 + VAT.
