About Cambrian & Cambrian Coast Line

The Cambrian Line runs cross-country from Shrewsbury through a varied rural landscape, beginning in the gentle, rolling borderlands of the Mid Wales Marches around Welshpool and Newtown before entering the wilder uplands of farms and forest in the Cambrian Mountains.

At Machynlleth station, The Cambrian Line splits in two with one section going south on to Aberystwyth and the other section following the Cardigan Bay Coast northwards through to Pwllheli.
Travelling south from Machynlleth to Aberystwyth, animal lovers will enjoy a visit to the Dyfi Osprey Centre at Dyfi Junction, Borth Animalarium or the Ynys Las Nature Reserve.

If you are interested in history there are castles and historic sites to visit along the way- just for starters you have Powis Castle & Gardens near Welshpool and Aberystwyth Castle on the seafront in Aberystwyth.
