During calls at the Port of Newport disembarking passengers are greeted with a Welsh welcome, with representatives from Cruise Wales available to assist with any passenger requirements. Throughout the duration of the call, a shuttle bus is operated to transport any passengers who are not on an organised tour to and from the local city centre. At the end of the day, as the passengers embark the ship, they are given a send off with a Traditional Welsh Choir or Band.
Located as it is, at the Gateway to both Wales and England, the Port of Newport is also able to provide facilities for vessels wishing to operate turnaround cruises from South Wales and the port is well connected to the motorway and national rail network. Whilst the vessel is in port at an alongside berth, it can also take the opportunity to take bunkers, water, stores and dispose of waste.
