International travel magazine writers Condé Nast have revealed their top 10 places in the United Kingdom to visit in 2021.

The market town of Abergavenny was placed in the number five spot.

It states that the “medieval town is proud of its appetite-appeasing flavours”.

The Angel Hotel is a four star hotel in the centre of the town and claimed the best Welsh Hotel award in the Good Hotel Guide 2020.

Michelin starred The Whitebrook, a short drive outside the town was described as having a ‘fierce local produce ethos’.

Also mentioned was the annual Abergavenny Food Festival in September. The town comes alive with local and international food and drink.

For those who like hiking, they encourage their readers to take in the three Brecon peaks of Sugar Loaf, Blorenge and Skirrid. The National Trust provide detailed walks to download for Sugar Loaf and Usk Valley, along with other walks in Wales.
