About Crickhowell Walking Festival at Crug Hywel | Crickhowell
It's time to get your boots on and your walking gear out to head for the hills with Crickhowell's Walking Festival.
The festival is a week of guided walks festival for all ages and abilities in and around the Black Mountains - part of the Brecon Beacons National Park, attracts walkers from all over the country, as well as locals keen to embrace the great scenery on offer.
The programme also has a range of supporting events. These are in the form of talks, some of which will be followed by a walk to illustrate the talk the next day, courses in Map Reading and Navigation – theory and practical – as well as times to relax to music and even dance, if you still have enough energy left!
Each day there will be a variety of walks on offer, ranging from all day hikes across the Black Mountains or the Brecon Beacons, for those that wish to have a challenge, through to easier strolls along river or canal bank for those wishing a more leisurely time.
Crickhowell’s wonderful walking guides will be on hand to ensure that your walk is both safe and informative and that you can relax in the knowledge that you are in the capable hands of an expert with good local knowledge.
One of the features of the festival is the provision of linear walks, which are difficult to accomplish without the use of
multiple car journeys. But a minibus ride to the start give you the opportunity to explore new routes to explore this beautiful area.
Booking will open on 1st December 2021, and booking is essential for all walks. Many of the popular routes
get fully booked before Christmas, so don’t leave it too long to make your bookings.
To keep you entertained in the evenings there will be a range of talks and other events included in the programme.
Crickhowell Walking Festival is organised by the Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre,in partnership with Walkers are Welcome in Crickhowell (WAWiC) and Crickhowell Adventure.
