Where Sea Meets Land – An Artist’s View at The Mill Café & Gallery

37 Ffordd Y Felin, Trefin, Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, SA62 5AX, Wales

A solo exhibition of paintings by the Pembrokeshire based artist, Kate Kelly.

The artist hopes this collection will inspire residents and visitors alike to enjoy the magnificent beaches and coastal paths where Kate walks her dogs and ponders subjects for her art.

Kate Kelly’s paintings celebrate where the sea meets the land, often viewed from the coastal path. She loves the challenge of capturing the ever-changing weather conditions such as dramatic cloud formations or skies streaked with light reflected on wet sand.

Palette knife strokes add edgy drama and perfectly evoke the feeling of being outdoors in the winds and winter storms while smooth strokes of a brush provide a sense of tranquillity and serenity triggered by the sound of the sea and the beautiful quality of light enjoyed in Pembrokeshire.

As part of the 'Year of the Sea' celebrations the artist’s aim is to invite others to see land / seascapes afresh and seek their own vision of stunning Pembrokeshire.

The Mill is an ideal place to stop for refreshments if you are walking the coastal path or a cosy hideaway to warm your toes by the wood burner and consider the artwork surrounding you. Bring along your dog and relax on the sofa while you soak up the atmosphere.
