About Barkby Beach

Barkby beach is one of three long sandy beaches along the Prestatyn coastline and extends into the Gronant Dunes Local Nature Reserve. Windsurfing, sailing and jet skiing (with a permit) are some of the watersports enjoyed here. As it is a busy launching site swimming is not advised. The National Cycle Network along the North Wales Coast (National Route 5) links Gronant, Prestatyn, Rhyl, Kinmel Bay and Abergele and is almost traffic free.
Parking with charge, toilets. Dog restrictions apply to part of the beach May - end September; no restrictions east of the slipway.
