About Ysgubor Celyn Megan
Ysgubor Celyn Megan (Megan’ s) is situated in the beautiful Ceiriog Valley.
Lloyd George called (A Little Bit of Heaven on Earth)
Megan’s cottage was previously a derelict stone barn and outbuildings which we have lovingly renovated and furnished, the cottage still retains lots of traditional character of the old barn including the some of the original beams and wonky walls.
There is a vaulted ceiling in the lounge and a full-length window making the most of the wonderful views of the valley, all of which adds to the character of the cottage. And when the nights get chilly what is cosier than a log burning fire.
Megan’s also has a large dining room which also has a log burner, garden and valley views.
There is a large well-equipped kitchen with centre island and modern conveniences.
A large fully fenced garden that wraps around the cottage which includes three patio seating areas to enjoy the panoramic views of the beautiful Ceiriog Valley.
Megan’s is less than 3 mins walk from the local Mulberry Inn serving real ales and meals in the pheasant bar where dogs are made very welcome along with fine dining restaurant.
There are two village shops/post offices within a mile one in Pontfadog next to the local pub The Swan which also serves food. The other is in Glyn Ceiriog where they have freshly bake bread, both ideal for stocking up on provisions and for larger shops, supermarkets are located in nearby Chirk, Oswestry or Wrexham.
While staying at Ysgubor Celyn Megan you can enjoy all that the local area has to offer including horse riding, quad biking, fishing, and leisurely walks along the unspoilt country lanes with their wildflower banks and wild hedgerows. There are plenty of doorsteps walks from the cottage and many more if you wish to go further afield.
Llangollen is a lovely town with lots of history, it hosts the Annual Eisteddfod each July which brings people from all over the world. The town offers something for all no matter what age. And is only 20 mins if you take the scenic back roads over the tops from the Swan in Pontadog or 30mins if you go from Chirk on A5.
