About Ty Moch Bach

Central for St Davids, Mathry, Fishguard and Haverfordwest, this 18th Century upside-down converted barn is set in a quiet rural location, close to the Pembrokeshire coastal footpath. Ideal for the beach, surfing birdwatching, cycling, golf and much more.

Ty Moch Bach, originally an eighteenth-century barn, has been converted into a comfortable two bedroomed up-side-down cottage, with accommodation sleeping a maximum of four. On the upper floor the cottage has a fully fitted kitchen/dining room with dining table, microwave, fridge freezer and washer dryer and a separate comfortable lounge with a three-seater and a two-seater sofa and armchair, wood burning stove, flat screen TV, DVD player and VCR and internet access.

Situated on the ground floor and accessed by an internal staircase are the two bedrooms and bathroom. The main bedroom has a double bed, integral wardrobe, chest of drawers and wash hand basin. The smaller bedroom has two single beds, together with a chest of drawers, both bedrooms have views over the garden. The bathroom has a bath, overhead shower wash hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. All bed linen is provided and beds will be made up ready for your arrival. The cottage has electric night storage heating throughout with the addition of a wood burning stove in the lounge for those colder days. An initial supply of wood for the wood burner is provided in winter months.

The cottage is situated in a quiet rural location with views over open farmland, close to the village of Castlemorris on the edge of the National Parks. Ty Moch Bach stands in its own well-kept gardens and is accessed by a private driveway with off road parking for 2 cars situated directly to the front of the cottage.

The city of St Davids and its Cathedral are a few minutes’ drive away, together with the market towns of Fishguard and Haverfordwest. Nearby are the unspoilt beaches of Aber Mawr, Whitesands and Abereiddy. For those who enjoy walking, the Pembrokeshire coastal footpath will take you along the cliff tops, past secluded coves and beaches protected by the National Parks. Less than one mile away is the Priskilly Forest Golf Course and also close by are the courses of Whitesands and Newport.

The cottage is available for booking throughout the year, normally on a Saturday to Saturday basis, but dependent on previous occupation, other changeovers, mid-week breaks and long weekends may be arranged. Minimum 3 night stay out of peak season.

Eating out
Alfresco at the cottage, there is a picnic table to the front and one to the side of the cottage to make the most of the late afternoon/evening sun. Or visit one of the many coffee shops, restaurants and public houses in St Davids, Porthgain, Solva and Newport - most of the local public houses serve food.

Attractions and activities
Pembrokeshire offers a wealth of activities, both indoor and outdoor, and places to visit.
With easy access to the coastal footpath for walking the many walks along the coast, to surfing, golf, cycling on dedicated quiet routes, wildlife parks, castles, iron age settlement, woollen mills, art and local craft galleries, potteries, Folly Farm, Heatherton and Oakwood Leisure Parks are amongst a few of the attractions in the area.
A very popular place to visit is the cathedral in St Davids, which also has plenty of gift shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and galleries, a visitor centre with internet access as does the Tourist Information Centre and library in Fishguard.
Local Beaches
Whitesands Bay - suitable for swimming and has a Blue Flag award for cleanliness also has a lifeguard during the peak season with coffee and surf shop. There is also a car parking charge, and a no dogs policy during peak season.
Abereiddy - shingle beach, free car parking, ideal for picking up the coastal footpath - No lifeguard.
Newgale - surfing/windsurfing with café, pub and surf shop. Also has lifeguard during peak season.
Other activities include fishing, canoeing, kayaking, coasteering, cycling (quiet cycle routes), boat trips and more.
Payment
There is no booking fee, but a 25% deposit is required to secure your booking, payable by cheque or bank transfer with the balance payable 6 weeks before your arrival date.
Late and last minute bookings made less than 6 weeks before the arrival date will need to be paid for in full by bank transfer. Electricity is included in the rental price - there are no other utility charges payable. Serious breakages or damage to the property or contents will have to be paid for at cost of replacement or repair. No smoking or vaping inside the cottage. We have a strict NO PET policy at the cottage.
