About Fishweir Cottages

Fishweir is set in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan just 13 miles from the Welsh Capital Cardiff. We're 5 minutes’ drive from Cowbridge, a stunning market town renowned for the profusion of high class shops and restaurants that line it's long and handsome main street. Also, approx 5 mins drive is the Heritage Coast where striking clifftop walks can be found.

We have several acres of secluded and enclosed grounds and a large pond with a population of ducks and moorhens (we also have peacocks and guinea fowl wandering around). We have a large area available for guest parking.

There are two holiday lets at Fishweir which are described below - Treffynnon sleeps 6 and The Granary sleeps 2. The prices include heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi Fi broadband internet access.

Treffynnon is situated behind the main house and the Granary

Treffynnon is an 18th century stone built L shaped single story cottage with roses and honeysuckle climbing the walls.

The rooms are spacious with central heating. There is a patio area at the front with table, chairs and BBQ and a private garden at the back. There is plenty of parking.

The front door leads into the hall and the stone walled corridors that lead to the living rooms to the right and the bedrooms to the left.

All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes, are fully carpeted and have quality furnishings. The windows look out onto a large expanse of grass where you can frequently watch pheasants, ducks, squirrels, foxes etc wandering around. A cot and high chair are available.

The spacious well equipped kitchen is fitted with oak units. There is an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher etc - also a small table and chairs. Leading off is a small utility room with fridge/freezer and washing machine, iron etc. Both rooms have ceramic tiled floors.

There is also a good supply of cleaning materials i.e. Persil, Fairy Liquid etc, also foil, clingfilm, salt, pepper.

Bathroom 1 has a free standing bath, basin and WC. Treat yourself to a soak - the wine will be in the fridge and the candles are on the window sill.

Bathroom 2 has bath with over bath shower, basin and WC. Both bathrooms have ceramic tiled walls and floors. There are also candles, loo rolls, soap, handwash, shower gel, bath soak and tissues supplied.

The dining room has exposed beams and fitted carpet. The oak table will seat 6 to 8 comfortably.

The sitting room has exposed beams, the original stone walls and fireplace with basket of logs (fire lighters and matches also supplied), fitted carpet, two large comfy sofas with plenty of cushions, TV, DVD, books, magazines and maps.

There is a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, Welsh cakes, orange juice, butter, choc biscuits, lager and a bottle of wine.

Included in the price are towels, bed linen, heating and electricity.

The Granary is a ground floor flat at the main house with views over the pond and fields. There are three stone steps leading to the front door, a large entrance hall, sitting room with dining area, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and utility room.

The bedroom has twin beds that can be joined to make a super king sized bed.

There is a large L shaped room that makes up the sitting and dining areas. The sitting room is very cosy and features a large stone fireplace with electric fire.

The ceramic floored bathroom is a good size and has a bath with shower, hand basin, toilet and airing cupboard. The kitchen is fully fitted with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave. Next to the kitchen is a small utility room with washing machine, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, ironing board and clothes drying rack.

Prices quoted on this website are per week (£595 for The Granary and £1050 for Treffynnon) but can also be let on a nightly basis (£85 per night for The Granary and £150 per night for Treffynnon) with a minimum 3 night stay.
