Award winning Cosy Under Canvas is a woodland glamping site that lends itself to a relaxed, alternative break away from the trappings of a hectic life. It is perfect for those who love the idea of a unique, low impact and environmentally friendly camping with everything provided.
There are 7 geodomes set on wooden platforms each with a private fire pit and stylish wood burning stoves that can be stoked up to keep you toasty overnight, and on those sometimes chilly summer evenings.
Keep warm under the thick feather duvets, contemporary Welsh blankets, throws, sheepskins, and crisp bedding, plus there are fluffy rugs and cacoon seats. It’s peaceful, relaxing and comfortable.
The 2 smaller domes are 5m diameters and comfortably sleeps four adults, two on a double bed and two on roll out futon mattress. All beds have memory foam toppers for extra warmth and comfort. There's a chiminea on the deck that's great for toasting marshmallows or even your toes after an adventurous day out.
The spacious domes are 6m in diameter, 4m high. They sleep up to 4 adults comfortably and 5 or 6 if you’ve got the kids with you. Two sleep on a comfy king size bed, made from locally sourced wood and the extras on raised futon beds. The domes each have exclusive use of a wood-fired hot tub, perfect for steamy nights under the stars.
There are two fully fitted shared camp kitchens, equipped with everything you could possibly need and there’s also plenty of undercover seating for everyone. When the sun shines take a picnic blanket into the woods and enjoy.
We keep our impact on the environment to a minimum. There are compost loos and washrooms in the woods, plus eco, wood fired showers with a canopy view. Alternatively use the new washroom and biomass boiler heated power showers.
Campfires are positively encouraged and there's a fire pit near each unit. There’s plenty of seating for everyone and the large spaces around the fire pits mean that campfire cooking is a must. All dig into a one-pot stew or prepare a BBQ feast.
Cosy Under Canvas lies within a mile of the path that forms the border between England and Wales, the Offa’s Dyke, and is adjacent to footpaths and bridleways. It's an ideal retreat for those seeking a base for walking or exploring the area.
The unique market town of Hay on Wye with its mass of bookshops is only four miles away, as is the Brecon Beacons National Park and the opportunities locally for outdoor activities are endless. They include hiking, walking, horse riding, trekking, canoeing, cycling, climbing, gliding and caving.
