Green Man Festival: Six Epic Things to Get Excited About
Green Man Festival, Brecon Beacons by Green Man Festival
We love the fact that the official winner of Best British Festival at the UK Music Awards is Wales' very own independent festival, Green Man. Now that we're counting down the days until this year's fun starts, we thought we'd share six things festival goers can look forward to at the family-run Crickhowell music festival.
Scouting out all 10 magical areas
This year there are more areas than ever before at Green Man, each one packed with new experiences and adventures for all ages. Whether you amble over to the secret garden, stretch out in the woodland spa or wander around the art installations and waters at Fortune Falls, there are so many adventures to be had in-between enjoying the music.

Catching epic performances from acrobats in the great outdoors
An enchanting new performing arts area is on site this year. Each evening at Back of Beyond, there will be intimate theatrical circus performances under the stars. Throughout the daytime, catch shows by Circomedia, Kitsch n Sync, Flossy & Boo,Tin Shed Theatre and National Dance Wales. It's going to be epic!

Watching world-class musicians
One of the best things about Green Man is the variety of music. As well as seeing bigger, well-known acts, festival goers can get a real kick out of discovering and unearthing new talent. This year's headliners are Belle & Sebastian, James Blake, Laura Marling and Wild Beasts, but there are plenty of lesser-known acts, such as Cate Le Bon, Whitney, The Oh Hellos (playing their first UK Festival), Kevin Morby and H. Hawkline, who are bound to win hearts. Warm up with the playlist before the festival kicks off.

Trying out the beers in the tent
If you want to take your taste buds on an adventure, check out some of the 99 different varieties of Welsh ales, ciders and craft beers available in The Courtyard. Given that Welsh brewers handcraft all the beer, the opportunity to sample so many artisan beers in one place is a chance not to be missed.

Digging around in Einstein's Garden
Complexity is the name of the game at this year's Einstein’s Garden, where the inspiring and unexpected collide in playful ways. They’ve got world-class scientists on hand to guide adventurers through sensational new discoveries and weave together the worlds of art, science and music.

Seeing the Brecon Beacons in all their glory
We reckon it's a hard push to find a music festival site set in more naturally beautiful surroundings than Green Man. Popping up in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, it makes for gorgeous backdrops and exciting off-site exploration. If you're keen to get some more adventurous fun from your time in the Beacons, enhance your stay with local horse riding, caving, canoeing or foraging for your dinner.
