What's on this Bank Holiday Weekend?
It’s the last bank holiday of the summer and the perfect time to discover Wales. If there was a perfect weekend to visit Wales, we think this would be it. Not just because there will be an extra day to your weekend but because of the amazing array of events and attractions taking place across the country.
For example, Cardiff is hosting 2 major international events this weekend. P1 Powerboat racing in Cardiff Bay and T20 cricket at The SSE SWALEC stadium, just a short walk from the city centre. Next up we mix the old with the new at Ponty Lido and Beaumaris Medieval Festival, then it gets weird and wonderful with Bog Snorkelling in Mid Wales and fighter jets on the North Wales coast. These are just a selection of the events taking place, you can always search for something specific using our Events Search and Attraction Search.

Powerboat P1 Superstock Series by Powerboat P1
With the success of last year’s event, which saw thousands of supporters turn out to watch the powerboat and jet ski racers duke it out in Cardiff Bay, P1 returns this Bank Holiday weekend (Sunday 30 - Monday 31 August) for the Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea, the penultimate round of the SuperStock and AquaX championships. The SuperStock race courses are close to shore, tight and fast, making it a great spectacle for the public and equally demanding on the drivers and navigators. The P1 fleet of eleven race boats and more than forty jet skis serve up two days of free-to-watch action, together with jet ski freestyle displays. Round off your summer with nautical-themed street entertainers and family entertainment at Vueling Cardiff Bay Beach including a real sand beach and shallow water play area. Have a wander to Craft Folk’s distinctive red and white stalls along Landsea Square offering a fantastic selection of art, crafts, local beer and fruit wines and traditional hot welsh cakes.
