Spa days and relaxation go hand-in hand, so what better way to unwind and start your trip in Wales. Located at the top of a cliff overlooking the breathtaking town Saundersfoot, I stayed at the St Brides Spa Hotel. Waking up to revitalising fresh air and the soothing crashing of waves starts your day the way you mean to continue, dreamy. After soaking up the view with your morning coffee, I recommend a dip in the heated infinity pool, swim around while you take in the scenery and slowly feel your worries slip away.

I jumped on a midday train from London and by 5:30pm had my feet in the sand on Saundersfoot beach, I suggest you try it. Use this time to chat away your worries, walk in silence or even try a spot of paddle boarding, the choice is yours. In Narberth (a 20 minute drive from Saundersfoot) we found Plum Vanilla offering vibrant Moroccan-inspired food and amazing cakes. For dinner in Saundersfoot visit Coast, we enjoyed a glass of wine and great food. The tempura pea starter was a winner for me!

Nothing helps the feeling of being bogged-down by London life like getting away to the sea. Wherever you are, Wales is good for the soul. I found Wales a perfect UK stay-cation and an inspiring place to be. With the colourful houses in Tenby, fresh seafood, and castles on the coastline, there is certainly a lot to look at. This has been a reminder for me that getting out your own bubble is the refreshment we all need, so go exploring and get inspired in Wales.

Visiting more places in the UK has been on my to-do-list and after visiting Pembrokeshire in Wales; I was almost ashamed I’d never been before. As a sustainability advocate, worrying about the planet on a regular basis can be draining, but having space and peaceful landscapes helps me to clear my head and switch off. I was delighted to find a newly opened zero waste store in a quiet Welsh town during my stay, it was a reminder to keep up my own efforts with reusable cups and showed me the forward-thinking culture in Wales. My experience was grounding and reinforced my own values.
