27 November 2015 Congratulations to Gwenno Saunders on winning the Welsh Music Prize 2015. The Welsh Prize celebrated its 5th year of supporting musicians in Wales who are making a huge contribution to the growth and success of the Welsh Music industry. “We are a small country but we have some incredible music being made” Huw Stevens told Buzz Magazine. Gwenno won the award for her debut album titled ‘Y Dydd Olaf’ which was inspired by a Welsh sci-fi novel by nuclear scientist Owain Owain. Welsh Music Prize 2015 by Welsh Music Prize Y Dydd Olaf was chosen from a shortlist of 15, from an original selection of 60 albums produced in Wales. The album was described by John Rostron as "the best of a brilliant bunch" he went on to say, "It's a bold, brave and wonderful record that also shows Wales at it's creative best. A deserved win."
