An alternative bank holiday in Wales

In Wales this bank holiday weekend, it's all about being competitive.

Cardiff will host yet another world class sporting event with the Extreme Sailing Series. Act 5 of a global series of races that bring exciting, adrenaline packed racing closer to the spectator. The waterfront at Cardiff Bay being an ideal location with plenty of viewing points and when the action ceases plenty of places to discuss the thrills and spills of the day in one of the Bay's many eateries.

Meanwhile in Llanwrtyd Wells in Mid Wales, at the World Alternative Games, competitors compete against each other in events that the ancient Greeks somehow managed to miss off of their original list. The most famous being bog snorkelling. Some competitors find this a bit simple and straightforward, hence events such as the World Mountain Bike Bog Snorkelling Championships and the World Human Underwater Bog Dredging Championship. Sounds like fun? Well, its not too late to get your entry in and become a world champion!
