New Year State of Mind.

Tardis on jetty, Cardiff Bay

Tardis on jetty, Cardiff Bay

The Christmas holidays are over and it’s officially detox, salad and fresh air season. But we’ve still plenty of reasons to stay cheerful.

This year, we’re getting geared up for Dylan Thomas’ centenary celebrations and Cardiff-born Hollywood actor Matthew Rhys tells us what it was like to play the legendary writer.

Love Hollywood celeb-spotting? You never know who you might bump into here in Wales. Take a look at some of Wales’ best filming spots.  Harry Potter’s Dobby, The Dark Night and Da Vinci’s Demons – Wales has played host to them all.

Broadcaster and disabled athlete Liam Holt joins us as a guest voice for our Wales View publication, highlighting some of Cardiff and Swansea’s accessible attractions

We know it’s a new year and we don’t like to ‘look back in anger’, but we’re doing the time warp (again!) and offering up some fascinating options to explore North Wales and South Wales history.

We’re also going back to our Royal roots - from Wales’ own Princes of Gwynedd to the current cohort and highlighting the stunning romantic ruins and art inspired by our royal legacy.

All those weeks spent munching selection boxes staring at the telly have surely taken their toll.  Why not take a stroll on some of Wales prettiest beaches or take a leaf out of naturalist Chris Packham’s book – Wales is awash with wild spots to explore nature and enjoy the outdoors

If you’re still in the mood for some really great shopping, we’ve got that covered, too. Think of the bargains.

Finally, if you’re in Cardiff and need to recharge your batteries after hitting the sales, why not check out these great foodie lunching spots

Happy new year!
