Major Awards for Vale Resort
Relaxation room at the Spa by Vale ResortThe trophy cabinet at Vale Resort in the Vale of Glamorgan just got a little more crowded after the four-star hotel and leisure venue picked up two new gongs from the World Travel Awards (described as the ‘Oscars of the travel industry’ by the Wall Street Journal).
Vale’s sumptuous spa was named Wales’ Best Resort Spa at the third annual World Spa Awards at a glitzy ceremony in Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Vietnam. If you’ve ever visited, this accolade should come as no surprise. The Vale Spa’s 19 treatment rooms and six bespoke relaxation zones are the last word in luxury. Lounge on leather sofas in the chill-out zone or on water beds in the float zone. For total relaxation, snuggle up under a quilt in the tranquil slumber zone.
If you’re in the mood from some for some pampering, treat yourself to a range of an Indian-inspired holistic Ayurvedic treatments with products from the likes of Clarins, Temple Spa and Sundari. That’s not all. The resort’s spa and leisure facilities also include a 20-metre pool, whirlpool bath, steam room and sauna. Rest and relaxation is a serious business at The Vale.
The Wales National golf course by Vale ResortNot content with snaffling the spa award, The Vale’s golf courses also picked up the award for Wales’ Best Golf Hotel at a ceremony in La Manga, Spain. With two championship courses, The Lake and The Wales National, the Vale needs to be on any golfers list of must-play clubs. As the name suggests, The Lake makes quite a splash, with water in play on 12 of its 18 holes. The mighty Wales National weighs in at 7,433 yards, making it one of the longest courses outside the US. Every inch of this impressive length is packed with fearsome bunkers and tricky water hazards, providing a giant-sized challenge for any golfer. According to those in the know, the sixth hole is one of the top 10 par fours in the UK.
“For the Vale Resort to be named in two different award categories in the same year is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the hard work of all of our staff,” says The Vale’s marketing manager Stephanie Metson. “We have always said that our hotel, with its two championship golf courses located in 650 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside, so it is an honour to have this recognised. Likewise we know our Vale Spa, which is Wales’ largest spa, offers a unique and luxurious experience for customers that sets us apart from the competition. We pride ourselves on putting our customers at the heart of everything we do to ensure they have a memorable experience every time they visit. These awards will inspire us to maintain our high standards so we continue to excel.”
