Kizzy's soundtrack to spring

Wondering what the song is on the new Visit Wales TV advert? The catchy track is award winning Welsh singer/songwriter Kizzy Crawford's latest single 'Shout Out'.

Written last summer with Catatonia guitarist Owen Powell, Kizzy said "It’s a song about standing up for what you believe in. It’s about bringing communities together through love and song and knowing that you have inner power to change the world for the better."

Kizzy is a Welsh speaker with Bajan heritage, so a version of the advert, available on YouTube, also has her performing the song in Welsh. She spent her childhood in Aberaeron and said: “I've got so many fond memories of family holidays in Wales, my top five shout outs for family holidays would have to include Poppit Sands, Narberth, the Llŷn Peninsula, the Brecon Beacons National Park and Beddgelert.  These are all places I visited as a child with my family and hold many happy memories for me. They're great places for families to visit and are also all very unique and beautiful.”

Shout Out Lyrics

Verse 1
I feel like a river
wanna drown my memories
if I flow like a river
Will someone come and rescue me

Chorus
Everyday I’m on the rooftop
I give a shout out to the people I see
When I’m waiting at the bus stop
you better wake up cos the people aren’t free
everybody’s got a one shot
but it’s too hot
to leave it be
come sing with me

Verse 2
I feel like a lion
I wanna chase away my fears
If I run like a lion
nobody needs to rescue me from here

Chorus
Everyday I’m on the rooftop
I give a shout out to the people I see
When I’m waiting at the bus stop
you better wake up cos the people aren’t free
everybody’s got a one shot
but it’s too hot
to leave it be
come sing with me

pre-chorus
we’re singing
we’re winning
beginning, we’re living
