Swansea Council has now confirmed that the free Wales Airshow will be returning to the city on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July. Breathtaking aerobatic displays over Swansea Bay, state-of-the-art aircraft and vintage planes from the past, will again be thrilling hundreds of thousands of visitors in the skies above Swansea.
The RAF’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has been added to the line-up for this year’s free event; other aircraft to have already confirmed their participation include the RAF’s Red Arrows and Typhoon display teams. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be made up of an Avro Lancaster, a Supermarine Spitfire and a Hawker Hurricane.
A British plane that was extensively used during the first two years of the Second World War. will also be taking part. The Bristol Blenheim supported the Dunkirk evacuation by harassing enemy forces in 1940.
The RAF Chinook, Gyro Air Displays and the Tigers parachute display team have also been added to the line-up.
