Cefn Sidan Beach

Pembrey Country Park, Pembrey, Carmarthenshire, SA16 0EJ, Wales

Described as one of Europe’s best beaches this eight mile stretch of long golden sand is one of the treasures of the Pembrey Country Park. With its lifeguards and flat sands this safe friendly beach provides excellent access and facilities for disabled visitors and young children.

Pembrey boasts a fantastic mix of traditional seaside attractions such as crazy golf and beach entertainers coupled with more modern facilities such as an impressive dry ski slope, toboggan run and a charming miniature railway. A perfect way to enjoy the magnificent views across Carmarthen Bay to Tenby and the Gower is to hire a bicycle and take one of the well-marked cycle routes through the spectacular scenery of Pembrey Country Park.

This storm beach is great for fishing and walking. Look out for jellyfish washed up at high water mark and as not all species sting, the most common one, moon jellyfish, trap plankton within its mucus while pulsing itself through the water. If too windy, head inland to explore Pembrey Country Park and forest; the whole area is open to public access.

Blue Flag and Seaside Award beach. Toilets and café at beach entrance; toilets and restaurant in the adjacent Pembrey Country Park. Ample parking (parking charge on entrance to the Park); Visitor Centre. Lifeguard service provided 10:00 - 1800 27 May to 4 June, 10 to 25 June (weekends only) and daily 1 July to 3 September 2017. Dogs not allowed on the main mile of the beach May to end September.
