On the coast of Cardigan Bay, there are excellent views along the Gwynned coastline in both directions and inland to the rugged Rhinog mountains. Conditions here are excellent for surfing, and Bennar is considered to be one of the best places in Gwynedd for consistently good waves. Others come here to fish for bass, flounder, dogfish and plaice. There is good access to the beach for disabled people. Further along the beach, about a mile to the north, there is a special area designated for naturists. You can reach the beach by bike using National Cycle route 8 which passes nearby. The dunes at Dyffryn are a National Nature Reserve and a permit should be obtained from the Natural Resources Wales before visiting them. Dog restrictions apply between May and September.
