“Now rural thrill-seekers can try something new!” – Clover Stroud, The Telegraph
A unique chance to go sheep trekking in the Brecon Beacons National Park! Good Day Out has teamed up with Aberhyddnant Farm to create a completely new concept, which is more native than Llama Trekking and more fun than your average walk in the hills. Each sheep is fitted with its own little halter, and you will choose your own sheep from a small flock of especially trained Jacobs.
There are three different length treks, all of which walk along ancient drovers paths, from the 200 acre organic farm with stunning views towards the Brecon Beacons and Pen y Fan. The short 2 hour Farm Trek stays on the farm and you will encounter other friendly dogs, horses, sheep and cattle, and the Forestry Trek also takes in wooded paths and lasts 3 to 4 hours. Both shorter treks include a snack picnic half way around, but if you’d like to have a real adventure, the day trip is for you! The 5 hour walk takes you from the farm across the slopes of the Black Mountain to the remote and lovely Llyn y Fan Fach where you will have a picnic with local produce, before you and your trusty companions head for home.
All the treks are available for individuals to pre-book on specific dates shown on www.gooddayout.co.uk and also available special group bookings. Equally suitable for both children and adults alike.
“Sheep Trecking!!? I've just been on one and it was really lovely! Very tranquil and relaxing. Lovely group of people, a beautiful walk and a delicious picnic of tea and cake waiting for us half way, out on the hill. Enchanting! Thank you Good Day Out.”
