23 Market Street, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL55 1RT, Wales

Welsh Tourist Board

Cartref Guesthouse is situated within the ancient town walls of the spectacular Caernarfon Castle built in 1282 and is just two minutes walk from the banks of the picturesque Menai Straight opposite the Isle of Anglesey, Ynys Mon.

This lovely old house is an 18th Century Town House built by a Scottish Baronet and retains many of its original features including some very special carved, Welsh Slate Fireplaces with magnificent cast iron inserts.

We, Mary and Roger Berrisford and Wanted, our cat (and managing director), have lived in this beautiful old house after a decision to leave our jobs and create a living space that is unhurried and calm.

Roger has been a General Manager in hotels all over the world and Mary just likes cooking (Wanted just likes eating and sleeping).

We like people (of all ages), beautiful surroundings and each other, so we decided to combine this and make Cartref a place guests will like too.
