The Draen (Welsh for Thorn Tree) is a wonderful old Welsh farm house that, in parts, dates back some 400 years. Nestling at the end of a very quiet country lane, surrounded by fields with fabulous views to the Black Mountains. A perfect spot for exploring, walking, cycling or simply just enjoying the peace and quiet. We are about 15 minutes drive from Hay on Wye, famous for its literature festival, and about 10 minutes from Brecon, which will be hosting The Jazz Festival once again this August. The Royal Welsh Showground is about 20 minutes drive away.

We have 2 double bedrooms, both with new modern en-suite, with their own separate front doors and staircase. We also have 1 twin room with a new modern en-suite. Our family room has a kingsize bed and a single bed. Each of the bedrooms has its own separate dining room for breakfast. The rooms are well appointed with TV, hair dryer, alarm clocks, tea and coffee making facilities. Iron & ironing boards available on request. Cycle lock-up.WIFI.

The traditional market town of Brecon, with its pretty winding streets, is about 7 miles away, and offers excellent restaurants and pubs, theatre, museum, banks, cashpoints, post office and cathedral. Hay on Wye is a 15 minute drive away famous for its many bookshops and literary festival.

There is a wealth of outdoor activities available nearby. Sailing, fishing, horse riding, golf, gliding and much more. Not to mention the miles and miles of walking. There is an abundance of wild life, including badgers, kite and buzzard.
