Glan Yr Afon is a cosy oak beamed cottage offering one double and one twin bedded room. It is situated in the tranquil Tanat Valley about 10 miles from the border town of Oswestry. The Tanat Valley stretches from the Berwyn Mountains at the head of the Cwm Pennant to the river Severn The landscape is rich and varied, a paradise for walkers, birdwatchers, anglers and all who enjoy beautiful countryside. Visit the little church at Pennant Melangell, one of the most tranquil places on earth, be over awed by the rushing splendour of the waterfull at Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant (it is higher than Niagra!), take a bicycle ride around Lake Vyrnwy, the RSPB centre, soak up the sights and sounds of the market towns of Oswestry and Welshpool, and visit the National Trust castles of Chirk and Powys, all within easy reach. The village of Llangedwyn boasts a craft mill which is home to a number of local craftsmen including a wood turner, artist, stained glass studio and a wonderful cross stitch shop. There is a small post office, but provisions can be purchased in Llanfyllin, where there is a swimming pool, or Llanrhaeadr, both about 5 miles distant. There are some excellant local pubs, the Green Inn just outside Llangedwyn is within walking distance and serves great bar and restaurant food.
