After purchasing The New Court Hotel in November 2012, owners Lee Selway & Lee Taylor have lovingly restored the hotel back to its former glory.
Having unveiled some beautiful features along the way including original fireplaces and floorboards, they have personally sourced every item of furniture to ensure the décor retains the hotel’s eclectic charm. From the table and chairs, to key pieces such as the Chesterfield sofas, dressers and Harlequin lampshades, everything has been chosen to complement the buildings rustic character.
Our Multi-awarding winning establishment opened its doors on St. David's Day 2013, and after only six months we were chosen as the 'Best New Restaurant', as voted by the readers of the South Wales Voice Magazine. Twelve months on, we have been awarded the title of 'Country Pub of Year 2014' and are extremely proud to be featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. We have also been awarded a Gold in ‘Usk in Bloom’ for the standard of our flowers displays.
Our bar has a plentiful offering including seven hand-pulls (five of which are Real Ales) a selection of continental lagers, Welsh & English ciders and an extensive wine list. I hand pick our guest ales every week from local suppliers, ranging from budding craft or micro-brewers to well-known established breweries. Having such a wide selection means lots of hard work and a great deal of time in the cellar, but, it's more than worth it as the team and I (and CAMRA!) can assure you that your pint will be nothing less than perfect.
Our Head Chef Nick Giddings has created a delectable, seasonal menu using only the finest quality local ingredients. Nick brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has crafted every dish on the Menu, so we can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.
