Powys Pods is located on our organic working family farm in the secluded Randorshire Hills, where you can gaze at the beautiful views over our secluded valley from your Pod, whilst sat listening to the gentle bird song, watching the sunset or staring at the stars on a clear night. You can get away from the constant noise of traffic and all the hustle and bustle, and just enjoying the peace & quiet.
There are thousands of acres of open access land on your doorstep when you stay at Powys Pods, just waiting to be explored, whether it’s just a morning stroll, a day-long hike, or part of a bigger undertaking such as walking the Offas Dyke Path or cycling the Radnor Ring.
In less than an hour you can visit Hay-on-Wye ‘the town of books’ or Kington ‘the centre for walking’ (both 20 mins by car), the historic cathedral town of Brecon at the foot of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells, or the cathedral city of Hereford. You can also visit Rhayader and the Elan Valley, the thriving market town of Ludlow in Shropshire, or the traditional Welsh town of Llandovery. There is also local pony trekking (1 mile), a golf course (2.5 miles), a great local pub (4 miles), the Herefordshire Cider Route, canoeing and kayaking, and outdoor centres including a rope centre and a gliding centre to name but a few!
ABOUT THE PODS
The Pod is a wooden camping hut that offers you all the fun of camping, but without the hassle of a tent or the worry of the weather. The Pod creates a simple, insulated all-weather space, with heating, lighting and electric sockets for all of the essentials. We have three pods on our campsite; Bryn-Gwyn (sleeps up to 5 adults, £50 per night*), Allt-Ddrew sleeps (3 adults or 2 adults with 2 young children, £40 per night), & Ardwyn (sleeps 2 adults and has built-in double/twin beds, £40 per night**). If some members of your group would prefer, there is also space to pitch tents nearby to the pods (£15 per night).
There are provisions for camping stoves and BBQs, and a there's a firepit as well.
If you do not have your own camp-bed or mats, we have camp-beds available to hire (£4 per night).
We have no or very little phone signal, but offer a free WiFi broadband connection on-site.
One of the toilet units doubles as a drying room, with space to hang and dry wet clothes.
Well behaved dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on a lead at all times and a fee of £5 per night per dog is chargeable.
Group bookings of more than one pod are allowed, but we ask that the group books all three units for the duration of their stay.
Advance booking is recommended, speculative campers without a booking must phone beforehand to check availability and for directions.
* Bryn-Gwyn has level access from car park to pod decking, with access to a toilet/toilet wet room for less able campers.
** Ardwyn is located up steps, a short distance from the main camping area. You will need to be able to carry your gear up these steps to reach the pod.
